Rowing Machine (“erg”) Workout

Join us on Tuesday evenings for terrific technique and workout exercise on a rowing machine.

The class is led by Ethan Curren.

You don’t have to be a rower to get a great deal of benefit from this or any of our other winter training opportunities.

Arshay Cooper visits the HoG regatta

Arshay Cooper, author of “Suga Water” will be attending the Head of the Genesee Regatta.

His focus is to help bring more urban youths into the sport of rowing. He will be helping people learn how to use a rowing machine, be signing copies of his book, and be available for conversation all day long.

He will be near the race’s finish line under a big white City of Rochester tent.
Come visit Arshay and see the competition at the regatta!
Free parking will be available for spectators.

Arshay Cooper speaks about rowing and urban youth

Arshay wraps up a busy day with a talk about his experiences as one of the first black rowers in america in the mid-1990’s.
This event is free and open to the public.

Arshay will also be a guest of Tariq’s at radio station WDKX on Friday morning, October 7th, from 9:00-10:00am.

He will also discuss his experiences and his book, “Suga Water” with Ryan Dawson on WXXI’s radio station at noon.

River Romance Tour

9 a.m. to 2 p.m.: Guided Paddle Along the Genesee from Seth Green to Ontario Beach Park
Join naturalists from the Seneca Park Zoo Society and the City of Rochester for an enjoyable and educational row along the Genesee River. Paddle trip is $20 per person.

Canoe or kayaks available for rent through the Genesee Waterways Center (link here). Maximum two adults per canoe. All children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Pre-registration is required. Meet in the Harbor Hots parking lot off of Corrigan Street.
