Lock 32 Whitewater Park in Pittsford is the only man-made whitewater course in New York State; at this facility we offer whitewater and flatwater kayaking programs and equipment rentals, swift water rescue training, and ACA instruction certification classes. It is a dynamic park that draws people of all ages to the water!

Lockapalooza on Channel 8

Lock 32's Danny Doran was featured on News 8 Now.  Channel 8's Bob Metcalfe got in a boat for the occasion and the news crew got some great footage of some Lock 32's resident kayakers.  Great to see the park featured with so many great boaters on the news.

I Like waterfalls

Here is a quick video of some of the waterfalls that I have run in the past year or so. Shot in New York and Washington, two of my favorite places to be. There will be plenty more waterfalls to come... See you on the water. Danny

The Mental Side of Creeking

Kayaking director Andy Cook takes a look at the mental side of kayaking steep creeks.

Summer '08 Creeking

It's been a busy summer at Lock 32! But, our instructors took the opportunity of some heavy rain to get out on some local steeps. On Tuesday, Andy, Paul, Danny, Mike and Corey loaded up Club Venture and El Poderosa and headed to Ithaca. We scouted the West Branch of the Cayuga Inlet, but that was too low. Paul and Andy did the First Descent of this sweet steep last spring and Danny has been dying to get on it ever since he returned from World Class. So, we boogied over to Six Mile Creek and made a quick lap on that. Then we ran downstream to scout a big drop that Paul has had his eye on for a long time.
