Sprint Kayaking

Sprint kayaks are fast and sleek and can be paddled as an individual or as a team.  The sport uses your core muscles and balance, especially as you progress into more aggressive kayaks!  Since these kayaks are meant for speed, they are narrow and tippy.  However, basic skills can be learned in a more stable kayak and later applied when using the faster boats.  The paddles are also specialized in a more 'cupped' shape to better catch the water as you paddle along.

This summer GWC is working with area coaches and athletes to provide children & adults an introduction to this exciting sport.  Join us!

Dates: Wednesday, August 13th To sign up, please call 328-3960 with your name & phone number.
  5:30-7:30pm For kids & adults!

Congratulations to Nicole Mallory, a Rochester local who recently earned a spot in the Moscow Junior Team Trials while paddling the 500m and 1000m course in Oklahoma City!
