Sprint Kayaking

Sprint kayaks are fast and sleek and can be paddled as an individual or as a team.  The sport uses your core muscles and balance, especially as you progress into more aggressive kayaks!  Since these kayaks are meant for speed, they are narrow and tippy.  However, basic skills can be learned in a more stable kayak and later applied when using the faster boats.  Participants should have some experience in a whitewater or sea kayak.  The paddles are also specialized in a more 'cupped' shape to better catch the water as you paddle along.

This summer GWC is working with area coaches and athletes to provide children & adults an introduction to this exciting sport.  Join us!
