The Genesee Waterways Center (GWC) is the City of Rochester’s partner for adult and youth programming in many things related to our area’s beautiful water resources. This summer, join us and friends from Genesee River Watch to experience paddling on the beautiful Genesee River, Erie Canal and on Red Creek. Canoes and kayaks will be provided for all events by the Genesee Waterways Center. Maximum two adults per canoe. All children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

Learn to Kayak Ice Cream Social

Friday, June 28, 5:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m.: Learn to Kayak Ice Cream Social! REGISTRATION IS FULL, SOLD OUT!. Bring the whole family down to the Genesee Waterways Center at 149 Elmwood Avenue.  We are conveniently located on the RTS bus line, by car with free parking and via the recreational trail system.  Join us to learn how to paddle while enjoying live music on the dock! There will be fun nature based activities both on and off the water, and participants will receive a FREE ice cream from Lugia’s Ice Cream! This event is free and open to the public. Registration is required.
